Thinking of the damage Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris is sustaining right now makes us heartsick. Some parts of the structure were standing five centuries before the U.S. was even founded!
With our tools making repairs on our wax version of the North End, we are thinking about the loss of beloved North End structures in numerous fire since the 17th century, and about what Notre Dame means to the French people and to the world.
What an incredibly sad day this is…
